Chicago Marathon Motivation - Running for the Anti-Cruetly Society

Friends, Family and Fellow Runners,
On October 13 I will be running my THIRD marathon, the Chicago Marathon!  Running has been a passion of mine for many years.  This year, I decided it was time turn my love for running into a charitable opportunity.  I am running to raise money for the Anti-Cruelty Society.
Why the Anti-Cruelty Society?    May 2011 was a time of many changes in my life.  I graduated law school, moved into my first single apartment, and searched for my first “big girl job”.  The ultimate change came in the form of a 50-lb tan, four-legged, waggy-tailed bundle of (hyperactive) fun that I named Jagger.
I adopted Jagger from the  Anti-Cruelty Society and fell in love with him and the mission of the Anti-Cruelty Society instantly.  The Anti-Cruelty Society is Chicago’s oldest and largest, private, open-admission, unlimited stay humane society.  In simpler words:  a NO-KILL shelter dedicated to finding forever homes for our four-legged friends that have been abused, abandoned, or given up through no fault of their own.
Its comprehensive programs and services help over 50,000 animals and humans every year and include: adoption, charity veterinary clinic, low or no-cost spay/neuter clinic, cruelty investigations and rescue, humane education & community outreach, a free behavior hotline, dog training classes, and more!   To see what all the Anti-Cruelty Society has to offer, please visit The Anti-Cruelty Society .
What I’m Asking of You:  Please consider donating to the Anti-Cruelty Society in honor of my Chicago Marathon race!  Jagger has become my best friend, cheerleader, trainer, and coach as he has logged many miles running with me (and logged even more hours of cuddle sessions on the couch after these runs).  Consider donating so another homeless dog or cat can find his or her new best friend!  Visit my donation page.
Remember:  No amount is too small!

Thank you for your donations and support.  Please continue following this blog for updates as Jagger and I train to complete 26.2 miles in October!
