A Real Ryding Experience!

One of my favorite training activities in Spin Class.  I prefer the intense nature of the class over getting on my trainer in the basement.  Recently, I purchased a group on for Real Ryder Revolution Chicago , a type of biking class that offers a total body workout.  This weekend I attended a class, and WOW!  What a workout!

The Real Ryder bikes are set up similar to a regular spin class, with one important change: the bikes are not anchored, but instead are slightly suspended so that your body weight can tip and turn the bike.  To keep the bike steady, I had to engage my lower abs, and focus on gently using my arms.

The 45 minute class was one of the most intense workouts I've ever had.  My arms, core, legs, and mind were all exhausted at the end.  Yes, I said mind.  I was mentally exhausted, as I had to focus on my body the entire workout.  There was no zoning out and just spinning the legs at a high cadence.  Every time I zoned out my core would relax, and the bike would wobble.

Overall, I LOVED this workout!  The staff was incredibly nice, and accommodating. I can't wait to come back and experience this again.  I think the overall conditioning will help make me a stronger biker this summer.
